Kim Davis Trending Costume Ideas

Anti-marriage equality Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis was in the news a lot this summer, in part due to her short jail sentence served in September for contempt of court. Her refusal to issue marriage licenses despite a court order brought her story to international news for several weeks.

Now Kim Davis is a hot Halloween costume for 2015. A standard Kim Davis costume is pretty easy: long sleeve white shirt with short sleeve blue shirt layered on top, long wig, glasses, and you're done. But you could take it a step or two further. Here are some fun and original Kim Davis Halloween costume ideas.

1 Light Blue T-Shirt: Kim Davis Top Layer

Found on Amazon

Any t-shirt and long undershirt combo will work if you're trying to copy Kim Davis's fashion, but to get the true iconic jailbird look, go with a light blue t-shirt on top.

2 Kim Davis Base Layer: White Long-Sleeve Top

Found on Amazon

Again you could go with almost any long sleeve base layer, but just in case, this form-fitting long sleeve white t-shirt makes a great Kim Davis-style undershirt.

3 Long Striped Maxi Skirt: Kim Davis Style

Found on Amazon

A long maxi skirt will finish off your outfit. This striped maxi skirt in crazy mixed shades of blue, maroon, yellow, and orange matches the top just like Kim Davis would.

4 Long Wig for Kim Davis Halloween Costume

Found on Amazon

You'll need long straight hair for your Kim Davis costume. This wig does the trick. Clip the top layer back in the middle Kim Davis-style for best results.

5 Costume Glasses for Kim Davis Halloween Look

Found on Amazon

A pair of glasses should finish off your look for any standard Kim Davis costume.

6 Kim Davis Blushing Bride: Veil Accessory

Found on Amazon

Why not go as Kim Davis, bride-to-be? Just add a flowing wedding veil for this look.

7 Pregnant Bride Kim Davis: Maternity Belly

Found on Amazon

Add a layer of hilarity to your Bride Kim Davis costume when you add a layer of baby bump to your belly.

8 Kim Davis, Lesbian: T-Shirt Layer Idea

Found on Amazon

Go as Lesbian Kim Davis by switching your standard t-shirt top layer with this lesbian pride shirt. Any pro-equality shirt would work, if you've got something similar in your closet already. Keep the veil and baby belly for added fun.

9 Rainbow Tutu Kim Davis Skirt Switch

Found on Amazon

Use the standard blue top with white base layer and switch out the maxi skirt for a rainbow tutu. It's like the mullet of intolerant county clerk costumes. You'll be all Kim Davis on top and all lesbian pride on the bottom.

10 Adding Zombie Make-Up is Always Fun

Found on Amazon

You could go as Zombie Kim Davis, Zombie Bride Kim Davis, Pregnant Zombie Bride Kim Davis, or, my favorite, Pregnant Zombie Lesbian Bride Kim Davis.
